Fantastic Fanning finds ideal partner in Frankuus

Joe Fanning added another front-running masterclass to his bulging repertoire with a decisive all-the-way victory on Frankuus in the Group 3 Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes.

The ever-dependable rider switched to default mode as he set the fractions on the son of Frankel, who galloped away from his rivals on rain-softened ground before digging deep to hold the last thrust of Mount Logan.

Fanning's endeavours in the silks of Hussain Lootah and Ahmad Al Shaikh earned him and trainer Mark Johnston a third win apiece in the race, the pair having combined previously with Mister Monet in 2004 before registering separate successes.
