A big crowd turned out for Beverley's bank holiday card and there was hardly a busier place on the course than the winner's enclosure after Havana Star won division two of the juvenile maiden for Hambleton Racing.

Looking at the 20 or so syndicate members and partners surrounding the winner, trainer Kevin Ryan said: "That's what racing's all about. We've got some first-timers in there and some others who've been in a few horses before, and it's the sort of thing we're all trying to encourage."

Ryan and Hambleton Racing were back in the winner's enclosure when the gambled-on Fine Example took the 7½f handicap.
