De Bromhead's Bold Enough lives up to his name with a stylish chasing debut

There were a handful of impressive performances on the eight-race card but the horse who could make the greatest impact is Bold Enough, who lived up to his name when winning the 2m novice chase for Mark Walsh and Henry de Bromhead.

The six-year-old has had just eight starts under rules and was last seen finishing third in a handicap hurdle at the Grand National meeting at Aintree.

Despite diving at the first on his chasing debut, he went on to justify his 1-2 starting price in effortless fashion, beating Effernock Fizz by eight lengths.

He was four lengths behind Grade 1 winner Ballyadam in a point-to-point in 2019 and should now be able to surpass what he achieved over hurdles.

Diamond unearthed

It seems there are few more likely things than Willie and Patrick Mullins winning the bumper, and it was once again the case as four-year-old Ashroe Diamond made a seamless start to her career when landing the closing 2m contest for mares by 14 lengths.

A half-sister to highly regarded bumper winner Take Tea, Ashroe Diamond is also from a family Mullins knows well as her dam was a half-sister to the stable's Grade 1 winner Quel Esprit.
