It has been a good fortnight for Simon Crisford, who has sent out seven winners from 25 runners and had another ten placed.

The Newmarket-based trainer does not send too many to Catterick, but took his record at the track to four wins from six runners with a double early on the card.

It started with Ghost Queen, who was aggressively ridden in a newly-fitted visor by Jack Mitchell, before Smart Champion on his first run since November thwarted Sharja Silk, in the same Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum silks, late on.
