Comet soars to make it memorable anniversary for Pertemps president Watts

There can't be many better ways to celebrate your wedding anniversary than having two winners from two runners, so it was a particularly memorable day for Birmingham-based Tim and June Watts who won with Mille Nautique and Blue Comet.
Tim Watts, who is the lifetime president of Pertemps, said: "I've been owning horse for 40 years and have had quite a few doubles, my first was 30 years ago when I had horses with Martin Pipe, but I've never had one on my anniversary."
The pair were keeping tight lipped on how many years they have been married, but trainer Fergal O'Brien was particularly pleased for them after Blue Comet followed up his win at the last meeting here with a gritty success in the 2m7f handicap hurdle under Paddy Brennan.
