Classy Haddaf lights up card with sprint success

Haddaf, who twice ran into a place in Listed company as a two-year-old in 2017, made a winning return to action in the 5f novice stakes.

Although he was comfortably the most decorated in the field, Haddaf, who was making his first start since being gelded, had to meet a rival in Windsor Castle fifth Last Page who was rated just 1lb inferior, and concede him 7lb.

The unfavourable maths did not stop punters sending off Haddaf the 4-5 favourite and he made it look pretty easy with a two-length win over his main market rival.
