'Can you really see him winning a Guineas?' - Tom Segal joins our panel
Wild Beauty and Perfect Power were cut in price for the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas following their victories in the Fred Darling and Greenham Stakes. Our Racing Post experts give their view on the Classic prospects of Saturday's big winners at Newbury.
'He won't stay a mile as well as others'
What's not to like about Perfect Power? However, can you really see a son of Ardad winning the Guineas against the might of Godolphin and Ballydoyle? I can't.
That's not to say he can't stay a mile, he just won't stay it as well as some of the others.
Wild Beauty won't even go to Newmarket but she has a future for sure and might be one for races like the Prix de Diane or Nassau Stakes over a mile and a quarter later in the season.

'The winner isn't the one to take from the race'
If you've got bets on either Native Trail or Inspiral for Newmarket, you don't need to worry about what happened at Newbury.
The Fred Darling told us nothing new. Wild Beauty is a good tough filly, but she and Jumbly were racing on the favoured part of the course and the winner was twice beaten by Inspiral last season.
Perfect Power again showed a fine attitude in the Greenham but it took him a while to wear down Angel Bleu. The latter is surely the one to take from the race, given he was warm and raced too keenly yet still nearly held on for second.
We know he gets a mile and likes soft ground, and the French 2,000 Guineas might be the race for him.

'I cant see either winning a Guineas'
I can't see either Perfect Power or Wild Beauty winning a Guineas. In fact, if there was a top-class miler running on the Newbury card then I suspect they were sighted in division one of the mile maiden.
It was illuminating to hear William Haggas say he was disappointed with My Prospero when he was beaten at Newmarket last year but the colt put that right with a commanding win.
Sandown's Heron Stakes, a suggestion from paddock expert Ken Pitterson, could be next before Royal Ascot, when a tilt at the St James's Palace Stakes – and a clash with a potential 2,000 Guineas hero – is not an outlandish suggestion, given the way jockey Tom Marquand was smiling afterwards. He should have Group pretensions at least.
