'Bryony Frost's tactics were superb' - how the star jockey won the King George

Bryony Frost rode the Ladbrokes King George VI Chase to suit her ally Frodon, and in doing so ensured the rest of the jockeys also rode their horses to suit them.

While he had twice won at distances further than three miles prior to the King George, Frodon is better known for his performances over shorter – such as his 2019 Ryanair Chase triumph – which perhaps lulled his rivals into a false sense of security.

From the off, Frost and Frodon lobbed away in front, jumping economically and without concern – as was the case for most of the others. However, in doing so the pair were not stretching and stamina was not being stressed.
