Tim Easterby: a winner at Ripon on Saturday with Mukhayyam

Front-running tactics worked a treat for Mukhayyam at York last week and there was no need to alter the winning formula as the five-year-old went practically pillar to post to land the feature Ripon Bell-Ringer Handicap.

Up 5lb for his most recent win, the Tim Easterby-trained Mukhayyam once again showed he has put a disappointing outing in the Cumberland Plate at Carlisle two starts ago firmly behind him, comprehensively reversing the form with that day's runner-up Fleeting Visit as he scored by three and a half lengths.

The admirable veteran Sennockian Star plugged on best of the rest to finish third, another four lengths further away.
