Stradivarius could get his chance to contest the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in October after producing a brilliant performance to win his third Gold Cup at Royal Ascot on Thursday.

Owner-breeder Bjorn Nielsen, who watched the race from home with a small group of friends and family, admitted to nerves before the off due to the relatively quick turnaround from the six-year-old’s comeback third in the Coronation Cup at Newmarket.
