Jim Crowley: yet another winner on the board
Jim Crowley was announced as the champion jockey-elect as he entered the winner's enclosure on Colonel Frank, not that he was entirely at ease with the description.
"It ain’t over 'til it’s over," he said after success in the 7f nursery for trainer Ed Walker. "This week I’m busy with lots of rides and hopefully I can keep banging a few in."
The win cancelled out a victory for nearest rival Silvestre de Sousa on Gold Award before Crowley extended his lead to 15 with an all-the-way win on Lady Macapa in the 6f handicap.
