Another double for the Skeltons – but it could have been much more

The Skelton brothers are getting to become Market Rasen's most famous acolytes and they were celebrating another double with a couple of runners who might well be entering the winner's enclosure again before too long.

First came Baron Von Chill, whose story is so familiar it feels as though you have heard it before. On his first start since leaving Philip Rothwell, for whom he had never won, Baron Von Chill ran out a clear-cut winner of a handicap hurdle run over effectively two miles and one and a half furlongs.

The combination of a wind operation, fitting of a hood and tongue- tie, and joining trainer Dan Skelton all pointed to an improved showing, and the 3-1 favourite made life fairly easy for jockey Harry Skelton.
