A cursory glance at the result for the 2m5f hunter chase shows a six-length win for 1-2 favourite Llancillo Lord, but backers were indebted to young rider Charlie Todd's ability to clamber back aboard after looking as if he was going out of the side door early on.

Coming to the third fence Todd and Llancillo Lord were impeded by Allie Beag, and the 18-year-old rider did exceptionally well to regain his balance after being bounced out of the saddle and losing both irons.

Once back on an even keel, the pair forged clear late on for victory, with Todd enjoying a fine Easter period following a winner at Plumpton on Sunday.
