A measured Approach as Power lands emphatic double for Tizzard

There was a double on the card for trainer Colin Tizzard, with both wins delivered by jockey Robbie Power who got a much cleaner round from West Approach to land the feature 2m3f novices' chase.

The seven-year-old had been second favourite behind Modus, another useful prospect and already a Grade 2 winner over fences, but Power took command on the home turn and already appeared to have Modus struggling when his hitherto iffy jumping proved his undoing and he fell three out.

Power had to keep West Approach up to his work to win, but he appeared to be idling more than anything and will presumably return to the big time now.
