Racecourses being supplied with PPE in order to be safe for resumption next week
The BHA is working with international medical supplies company CHB Medical to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to racecourses in order to ensure racing can safely restart on Monday.
British racecourses will be stocked with the potentially life-saving equipment, with specialist 'back to racing' packs being distributed for the sport's resumption.
The packs include coveralls, face masks, gloves, goggles, hand sanitisers, infrared thermometers and visors.
The PPE is sourced internationally and is expected to be delivered to tracks hosting action in the first week of resumption this weekend.
The BHA last week released a 33-page document detailing safety guidelines for when racing returns behind closed doors on June 1. It states that jockeys, stable staff, stalls handlers and security staff are among the people that are requested to wear face coverings.
The document also states that employers are responsible for their own staff's PPE when attending fixtures, but the BHA has sent out ten reusable face masks to trainers likely to have runners in the first week of resumption. Additional masks will also be made available for staff on racedays.
Jockeys and staff at racecourses in France have been wearing face masks since the sport's resumption on May 11.

Felicity Griffiths, managing director of CHB Global, said: "To be associated with the BHA is fantastic for us and we're honoured to be playing our part in helping to get horseracing in Britain back up and running.
"We're providing flexible options for racecourses that may already have a stock of PPE or hand sanitiser, to ensure all tracks across the country are compliant with regulations on racedays.
"But it's not just racecourses; we will be able to support trainers, owners and yard staff before they even get to the racecourse to ensure they are protected.
"Everyone involved with the sport wants to get back racing, but it's important that it is done safely and everyone is protected – so that racing doesn't come to a halt again after the restart."
CHB Medical also confirmed it would be donating five per cent of all sales on PPE to NHS charities.
Lee Moulson, who spent ten years working for the Jockey Club, became the global sales director of CHB Medical last month.
Dr Jerry Hill, chief medical adviser at the BHA, said: "The level of service and attention to detail we have had from CHB Medical has been exceptional.
"They have consistently been efficient and accommodating working with a range of industry stakeholders throughout Britain."
