Race titles at Arena Racing Company's (Arc) 16 tracks will no longer be allowed to promote online casino products from next month, the racecourse group has revealed.

The new policy is a marked contrast to the controversial deal announced last week between the Jockey Club and gambling technology company Playtech to develop a range of online casino, poker, virtual sports and bingo games based on the Jockey Club's most famous races and racecourses.

British racing's leadership has been emphasising the differences between betting on horseracing to games of chance such as online casino games, which are associated with higher rates of problem gambling, as the government works on its review of gambling legislation.
