Rain-hit Windsor cancels fixture following 'an absolute deluge'
Today's meeting at Windsor has been cancelled following heavy rain at the course.
Officials called an 8am inspection after a total of 48mm of rain fell in a 24-hour period but the damage had been done.
Clerk of the course Eloise Quayle said: "There was no option but to abandon, there are areas of standing water.
"We've had an absolute deluge in a very short space of time. It's been quite extraordinary, we've had 48mm of rain in 24 hours."
Racing takes place at Musselburgh, Yarmouth and Gowran Park in the afternoon, with Kempton responsible for keeping the fire burning in the evening with an eight-race card.
