All you need to know to start your day including going from all the tracks
Brighton's three-day festival draws to a close on Friday, with the Harry Bloom Memorial Brighton Bullet the feature race. It is rare that Ron Harris does not have a say in the race and Under The Covers represents him this year.
In terms of pure lucre, Musselburgh's Archerfield Cup over 1m6f puts the east coast of Scotland ahead of the south coast of England this Friday. It is not quite so well subscribed, but Mark Johnston rarely misses a big pot and he sends Yorkidding up to contest this £20,000 prize.
There is also British action from Wolverhampton in the afternoon and Haydock and Newmarket in the evening. In Ireland, Tipperary's evening card features the Listed Coolmore Ivawood Stakes (6.55).

What's on today
News emerged last night that Francois Doumen has called time on his glittering training career. The pioneering Frenchman trained some of the most famous names in National Hunt and recalled some of his best in his own words for the Racing Post.
Look out also for all the Shergar Cup build up. We will have out guide to the meeting and previews of the races up on Friday afternoon. Stay tuned.
What to back
As ever, our tipsters provide their best bets and watch out for The Punt later this morning, following two wins and a second on Thursday.
Our featured tipster is Graeme Rodway, while Alan Sweetman provides the best bets from Ireland. (Members' club)
What to read
In our latest Racing Revealed, we look into the horses that suffer from hayfever- but can't sneeze!
You can also check out our Q&A with four of the Shergar Cup jockeys.
What to watch
Ryan Moore talks to us about Caravaggio and York-bound Churchill.
We have talked to several of the jockeys in action at the Shergar Cup on Saturday. Here is Michelle Payne, but we also have Hayley Turner, Emma Jayne Wilson and Anthony Delpech.
We also have our first football postcast of the season, covering all the weekend's big matches.
The best of Racing Post Sport
Besides the big kick-off, the World Athletics Championships rolls on and Stuart Riley has picked the bets on day eight.
There is also a roses match in the T20 Blast, with Lancashire taking on Yorkshire.
Final thought
Francois Doumen's retirement is as good a time as any to reflect on the relationship between French jumps racing and its British and Irish cousins. It feels more one way these days than in Doumen's heyday, and without being too doom-laden jump racing is that little bit less competitive and interesting because of it.
