Going news, market movers and punting pointers for today's meetings

Check your sunscreen supplies as that bright yellow orb is set to come out with temperatures forecast to soar into the 20s.

There is no high-flying racing, though, ahead of the first Classics at Newmarket, with four meetings on the Flat split between the all-weather at Lingfield and Newcastle, plus turf at Chepstow and Musselburgh.

Musselburgh races for the second day in a row and there is firm in the going description, which is something of a rarity given the widespread wet weather there has been for much of this year.

Chepstow, switching codes with its first Flat fixture, remains heavy in places and Cheltenham's popular hunter chase meeting falls somewhere in between.

The big question at Cheltenham comes in the two-mile race for those non-staying point-to-point horses which would not be the same with Sam Cavallaro, who was second last year after winning the two previous runnings.

Final thought

It's a mouthful but the Bet & Watch At 188bet.co.uk "Confined" Novice Stakes (Not Run In More Than Four Flat Races) at Lingfield at 2.50 has got eight runners and a clash of the generations so why not try more like it?
