Stay at home, keep warm and enjoy a feast of fantastic racing on ITV4

For many people, Saturday is invariably a day of leisure. Unfortunately lockdown rules render the vast majority of leisure pursuits to be banned, so what better alternative can there be than to sit down in front of the fire on a cold January afternoon and warm the heart with a televised feast of racing?

Thankfully elite sport was given the all-clear to continue this week by prime minister Boris Johnson, and ten races are scheduled for live broadcast from three meetings on ITV4, inspections permitting, with the feature being Chepstow's Coral Welsh Grand National (3.10).

Some big names have landed this historic marathon over the years, including Cheltenham Gold Cup winners Synchronised (2011) and Native River (2016) plus the uniquely talented Carvill's Hill (1991).
