One jockey

Jim Crowley will have the pleasure of riding Battaash, as he has done for his three previous King George wins, and the jockey has an enviable book of rides for the fourth day of the festival.

He rides likely odds-on favourite Khaloosy in the Thoroughbred Stakes (2.15), with his mount looking to follow up his superb four-and-a-half-length demolition in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Crowley also teams up with Desert Encounter in the Glorious Stakes (3.45), winner of a Grade 1 in Canada last autumn, as well as the Montatham for William Haggas in the Golden Mile (2.45).

One trainer

It could be a fabulous Friday for Haggas with the trainer deploying six horses to the Sussex Downs, all with live chances of success.

One Master runs in the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes (1.45), and attempts to improve on her fourth in the race two years ago, which is her only previous appearance at Goodwood. She won the Group 1 Prix de la Foret at Longchamp last season.

Haggas also runs Montatham in the Golden Mile (2.45), winner of two of his three starts this season, including the Coral Challenge at Sandown last time.

My Oberon tackles the Group 3 Thoroughbred Stakes (2.15) while Pablo Escobarr goes for the Group 3 Glorious Stakes (3.45). Al Qaqaa and Beautiful News run in the first and last races respectively.

One horse

Battaash is a horse that needs no introduction at Glorious Goodwood, looking to land his fourth consecutive Group 2 King George Qatar Stakes (3.15).

The Charlie Hills-trained king of speed looked as good as ever when blitzing the competition in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, and is understandably the heavy favourite to land a 12th career win.

One race

The Golden Mile Handicap (2.45) has attracted only 15 declarations but it looks a race full of quality with some classy runners set to line up.

Prompting makes a quick reappearance under a 3lb penalty after winning at York last Saturday for David O'Meara, while Sir Busker looks to continue his rapid progress for William Knight, having improved 15lb since the start of the season. That four-year-old won the Royal Hunt Cup consolation race last month.

The Jamie Osborne-trained Cliffs Of Capri looks to build on his promising second in the International Stakes at Ascot last Saturday.

Old favourite Vale Of Kent bids to go one better after finishing second to Beat Le Bon in the race last year, and Afaak looks to get back on track for Charlie Hills having dropped back down to the same mark he won the Royal Hunt Cup off last season.
