The three-day Newmarket July meeting starts with a bang today with last year's Derby hero Masar leading the talent on show.

Beaten at Royal Ascot last month on his first start since his Epsom heroics, Masar will be looking to get his career back on track after his injury woes in the Group 2 Princess of Wales's Tattersalls Stakes (3.35).

The Tattersalls July Stakes (2.25) and Bahrain Trophy Stakes (1.50) are the other big races at Newmarket, with the first four races on the card shown live on ITV3.

The quality action continues into the evening with Leopardstown staging the Group 3 Stanerra Stakes for fillies and mares at 7.55.

The day's action is completed by Doncaster and Carlisle in the afternoon and Newbury and Epsom in the evening.
