The fact that prominent racers generally enjoy an advantage over fences has come up often on these pages in the last year or so. When it comes to the Betway Handicap Chase, that edge has been clear for many years.

Kempton's chase course is well known for its generosity to front-runners and its most famous handicap has often showcased that trend. From Desert Orchid to Gloria Victis, Quinz and Nacarat, bold rides have historically gone down well.

Double Shuffle made most of the running last year before going down by a length to Walt and is back again, closely matched at the weights with third-placed Adrien Du Pont. His rider Jonathan Burke will likely be hoping to pull a similar trick.
