Just Beautiful makes her debut for Paddy Twomey in fascinating contest
Clipper Logistics Boomerang Mile (Group 2) | 1m | 3yo+ | RTE2/RTV
It has been nearly a year since we last saw Just Beautiful on a racecourse but it would be foolish to ignore her chances in this Group 2, especially given where she now resides.
The daughter of Pride Of Dubai was bought by Moyglare Stud for 625,000gns late last year after a cracking spell with Ivan Furtado, and is now in training with the high-flying Paddy Twomey.
She won the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster on her last start as well as a Listed race at Musselburgh, and was only beaten two and three-quarter lengths into sixth in last year's Falmouth Stakes behind Snow Lantern.
Twomey is no stranger to readying a filly after a long spell off the track. He produced La Petite Coco to win the Pretty Polly after a 287-day absence so it would be no surprise if Just Beautiful makes her presence felt.
British raiders have a good record in this €200,000 contest, winning five of the last eight runnings. Simon and Ed Crisford have sent over Jadoomi following his game win in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood, and they have booked Christophe Soumillon for the ride.
The four-year-old has won both his starts since a gelding operation, the other success coming in a Clairefontaine Listed event, and he sets the standard on official ratings.
Boundless Ocean bids for a hat-trick after two Group 3 wins at this venue, including when producing a career-best performance last time in the Desmond Stakes. The three-year-old allowance is a nice boost to his chances.
The recent rain is sure to play to the strengths of Raadobarg, whose two wins this season have come in smart fashion on slow ground, while Georgeville will be hoping to get closer to Boundless Ocean than he did in the Meld Stakes.
Jessica Harrington's Real Appeal, Aidan O'Brien's Glounthaune and Joseph O'Brien's Statement complete a fascinating eight-runner field.
What they say
Johnny Murtagh, trainer of Raadobarg
It's a competitive race and he has a bit to find on ratings, but he's in good form and will appreciate the rain.
Jessica Harrington, trainer of Real Appeal
He's been running on quick ground for a while now so we'll see how he gets on in these softer conditions, although it's likely to be easier than ideal for him. At the same time, Leopardstown can dry out quickly. He's got good form at the track so we're hoping for the best.
Paddy Twomey, trainer of Just Beautiful
She's a lovely filly. It'll be her first run for us but she showed a high level of form for Ivan Furtado. We're looking forward to running her. She's a very nice filly.
Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Statement
This will be her first run for us and she's trained well since arriving here. She won't mind a bit of juice in the ground. Hopefully she runs a nice race.
Aidan O'Brien, trainer of Glounthaune
We think he should give a good account of himself. He had a hold-up since his last start and this is his first run after a break. He should improve a little bit but he has done plenty of work and we're happy with him.
