ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the eight races on ITV4 on Saturday
Musselburgh
Betway Royal Mile Handicap, 1m
This handicap can produce Saturday-class handicappers and it could be the fancied Baikal will be up to that level this season. Mark Johnston has won two of the last three runnings and he and son Charlie are represented by the lightly raced Spirit Catcher.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: SPIRIT CATCHER
Free-going sort; impressive on debut over 7f; should stay 1m; chance on handicap debut
1.50 Newbury
Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes (Group 3), 1m4f
Last year's Dante winner Thunderous tops this field on ratings but there isn't much between him and his six rivals. Established campaigners like Ilaraab and Raymond Tusk have fresh faces like Stowell and Invite to contend with now.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: ILARAAB
Recovered last autumn from a mid-season lull; 2021 reappearance was top RPR; big shout
Paul Kealy's Saturday banker at Newbury
Betway Musselburgh Silver Arrow Handicap, 7f
Seven-year-old Another Batt has been operating at a decent level for much of his career and holds bold claims again after beginning his season in the Lincoln. Main rivals Gioia Cieca, Gobi Sunset and Gweedore have been consistent of late and deserve respect.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: GIOIA CIECA
Had some good form at 3 and could be a class act here if ready to roll after 134 days off
2.25 Newbury
Dubai Duty Free Stakes (Group 3), 7f
Alcohol Free won this race last year en route to Group 1 success in the Coronation Stakes and Nassau. Wild Beauty already has a top-level success on her resume after winning the Natalma Stakes at Woodbine. Course-and-distance winner Jumbly and Shaara shouldn't be far away.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: JUMBLY
3-4 as 2yo including C&D Listed race; still not fully exposed; leading contender
The prolific Raasel has won six of his ten starts, including his last five, and is to be feared for the Mick Appleby team. Several of these, like Dakota Gold, Justanotherbottle and Copper Knight will likely have bigger targets to come.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: MAKANAH
Good C&D record, can go well fresh and starts the campaign off a good mark; interesting
The Punt Daily: Robbie Wilders' two horse racing tips at Newbury on Saturday
Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes (Group 3), 7f
Three of the best two-year-old colts from last year do battle in this 2,000 Guineas trial. Angel Bleu proved his stamina winning the Group 1 Criterium International over a mile last year, while Morny and Middle Park winner Perfect Power and July Stakes and Gimcrack winner Lusail have it to prove.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: PERFECT POWER
Two Group 1 wins over 6f as a 2yo and he shaped as if 7f will suit him well; huge shout
Grand National-winning trainer Emmet Mullins has sent Zero Ten over from Ireland to contest this contest and he was last seen finishing a credible fifth in the Group 1 Prix Royal-Oak. Enemy is unexposed at this level while Sir Rumi and Themaxwecan can be competitive.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: SIR RUMI
Did well at 3 and set for another good season based on solid reappearance; much respected
Saturday's free racing tips: six horses to consider putting in your multiples
Highclere Thoroughbred Racing 30th Anniversary Spring Cup Handicap, 1m
Rogue Bear was a bit unfortunate in the Lincoln when third and has his chance to better that effort here. Saleymm was second at Doncaster while Modern News and Irish Admiral will have to reverse the form.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: SALEYMM
Winning handicap debut on AW; very good 2nd from the front in the Lincoln; solid chance
