1.05 Chepstow

The locally trained Zambezi Fix has finished second on four occasions for Bernard Llewellyn and bids to go one better after a fine effort at Sandown last time. Now back over fences, he takes on recent winner When You’re Ready and course winner Paint The Dream.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: When You're Ready
Personal best when scoring over C&D; open to further improvement and has a good chance
1.20 Kempton
Ladbrokes Wayward Lad Novices' Chase, Grade 2, 2m
Alan King’s top novice chaser Edwardstone looks to continue his rise up the ladder with success in this four-runner heat. He carries a 5lb penalty due to his Grade 1 success in the Henry VIII last time, and the in-form Solo is perhaps his biggest threat.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Do Your Job
Built for chasing and well worth another try in Graded company
1.40 Chepstow
Coral Finale Juvenile Hurdle, Grade 1, 2m
Forever Blessed has won his two races by a combined distance of 29 lengths and now looks to establish himself as the top juvenile hurdler in Britain. Porticello has some high-class form to his name while Forever William and Saint Segal are interesting up in grade.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Forever Blessed
Has looked the part in winning easily at Ffos Las and Sandown; could be anything.
1.55 Kempton
Play Ladbrokes 5-A-Side On Football Mares' Handicap Hurdle, 3m½f
Coded Message has not won since scoring so impressively in this race two years ago and she takes on Tequila Blaze, who beat her convincingly at Ascot last time. Martha Brae was a losing favourite that day so perhaps there is more to come from her.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Tequila Blaze
Won similar event at Ascot last month when making handicap debut; respected
2.10 Chepstow
Coral "Fail To Finish" Free Bets Handicap Hurdle, 2m7½f
The Paul Nicholls-trained Take Your Time has won twice since being upped in distance and looks to continue his progression in this quality contest. Geordie Des Champs is another recent winner while Al Dancer is respected given the level he once reached.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Flashjack
Back down the weights, best with a stamina test; in-form stable has another live contender
2.30 Kempton
Ladbrokes Desert Orchid Chase, Grade 2, 2m
The imperious Shishkin makes his seasonal return against a small but excellent field here. Tingle Creek winner Greaneteen, the in-form Before Midnight and Sky Pirate all look to end Shishkin’s unbeaten record over fences.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Shishkin
Already championship class and this delayed reappearance is the only downside
Coral Welsh Grand National Handicap Chase, Grade 3, 3m6½f
Secret Reprieve has not been seen since landing this race last season and faces a stiff ask to become the first back-to-back winner since 1989. Highland Hunter, Iwilldoit and Hold That Taught come here off the back of recent wins while Colin Tizzard puts in classy former winners Native River and Elegant Escape.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: The Big Dog
3m4f win; something to prove off his British mark but this test looks tailor-made for him
3.10 Kempton
Play Ladbrokes 1-2-Free On Football Handicap Chase, 3m
Cap Du Nord finished second to Royale Pagaille in this race last season and looks to go one better. He is one of two contenders for Christian Williams, who also runs Kitty’s Light who thrives in big handicaps.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Fortescue
Has a good strike-rate over 3m and may resume his progress back at this trip; interesting
