ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the 11 races on ITV on Saturday
1.15 Sandown
Virgin Bet Handicap Chase, 1m7½f
Course-and-distance winner Gunsight Ridge takes on Frero Banbou, who could kickstart a stellar hand for trainer Venetia Williams at Sandown. Tamaroc Du Mathan has dropped in Grade and could be interesting on his first start since wind surgery.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: GUNSIGHT RIDGE
Scored over course and distance four weeks ago and looks capable of further improvement; respected
Racing TV "12 Euros Per Month This Weekend Only" Spring Juvenile Hurdle, Grade 1, 2m
Fil Dor seeks to extend his record over hurdles to four with a breakthrough success at Grade 1 level. Vauban, who was a close second to subsequent Grade 1 winner Pied Piper last time out despite interference, could pose a significant danger under Paul Townend.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: FIL DOR
Has looked very smart in winning three in a row, trainer very strong in this category
Virgin Bet Contenders Hurdle, Listed, 2m
The top three in December's International Hurdle return to take each other on again in this Listed contest. Guard For Dreams was the winner last time but Song For Someone will be looking the turn the tables alongside third-placed Hunters Call. Goshen, who has proved something of an enigma for Gary Moore, is also set to feature.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: GOSHEN
Back in better form at Lingfield two weeks ago; big player if backing up that effort
bet365 Auld Yin Conditional Jockeys' Veterans' Handicap Chase, 2m6f
Calipso Collonges could pose a significant threat back down in distance for Olly Murphy, despite shouldering top weight alongside Graded-winner Glen Forsa. Cool Mix has dabbled in the places this season and should be thereabouts again.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: CALIPSO COLLONGES
In top form since wind surgery and holds leading claims now back down in grade
2.20 Sandown
Virgin Bet Scilly Isles Novices' Chase, Grade 1, 2m4f
Charlie Deutsch seeks a first Grade 1 success with L'Homme Presse, who is unbeaten over fences this season and a ready winner of the Dipper last time out. Also making his Grade 1 chase debut is Pic D'Orhy, a resounding winner for the Noel Novices' Chase in December and represents the yard of Paul Nicholls.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: L'HOMME PRESSE
3-3 over fences; won the Dipper at Cheltenham most recently; highly progressive
William Hill Towton Novices' Chase, Grade 2, 3m
Ahoy Senor looks to bounce back from his Boxing Day defeat to Bravemansgame in this three-mile chase and is odds-on favourite to get the better of his three rivals that include Saint Palais, who is on the hunt for a four-timer.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: AHOY SENOR
Below his best at Kempton but can regain the winning thread
2.40 Musselburgh
bet365 Scottish County Handicap Hurdle, 1m7½f
Paul Nicholls and Angus Cheleda won this race last year with Christopher Wood and seek to make it two in a row with Wild Max. Course form comes from Fiveandtwenty, who has claimed four of his five starts at Musselburgh and represents the red-hot yard of Donald McCain.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: WILD MAX
Pulled up over fences last time; could bounce back with a big run now returned to hurdles
Virgin Bet Heroes Handicap Hurdle, Grade 3, 2m7f½f
Green Book suffered ill fortune when hampered in the Lanzarote when joint favourite and looks to return to winning ways in this Grade 3 handicap. Ree Okka is on a hat-trick for trainer Harry Fry, while Easysland makes an intriguing stable debut for Jonjo O'Neill ahead of taking on Tiger Roll at the Cheltenham Festival.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: BEAUPORT
Second both starts this term; now looks ready for this sort of trip; more improvement in him
Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup, Grade 1, 3m½f
Kemboy will attempt back-to-back wins in this Grade 1 contest that features Gold Cup winner Minella Indo and the puzzling Asterion Forlonge. They will have to face Frodon, who landed the Down Royal Champion Chase in October and is back for more Irish success for Nicholls and Bryony Frost.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: KEMBOY
Won this race last year, major chance now after a reassuring display in the Savills Chase
Virgin Bet Masters Handicap Chase, 3m
Farinet returns to Sandown after success in January, stepping up to three miles for the first time under Charlie Deutsch. Also stepping up is distance is Kapcorse, while Five Star Getaway was a winner over the distance at Christmas and could pose the biggest threat.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: LINELEE KING
Without mishaps (had one latest), he's surely capable of winning something off this mark
3.45 Musselburghbet365 Edinburgh National Handicap Chase, 3m7½f
Scottish National winner Mighty Thunder takes on former stablemate and Welsh National runner-up Highland Hunter, who carries top weight under Lorcan Williams. The Wolf is unproven over this distance but looked as if he could stay further when second over 3m2½f on New Year's Day.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: THE WOLF
Stayed on well for second over 3m2f at Cheltenham latest; has potential at today's trip
