Horses to keep an eye out for at Chelmsford this evening

There is all-weather action from Chelmsford to keep us all entertained this evening, with seven races taking place on At The Races from 5.45. Here are three to keep an eye on.

Year after year Khalid Abdullah’s Juddmonte Farms pump out countless top-quality performers, topped this year by the brilliant filly Enable.

It is not hard to see why when you look at the pedigrees of Abdullah’s stars, and Desert Diamond is yet another to carry blue-blooded breeding and, probably, above average talent as a result.

By Dubawi, Desert Diamond is closely related to Frankel, among others, and a win tonight would make her another valuable asset to the Juddmonte broodmare band.

The All-Weather Championships are underway and could the Queen be having a pop at getting a runner to Lingfield on Good Friday?

Perhaps. More likely she simply has a progressive handicapper in the form of Musical Terms, who is unbeaten in both starts since being gelded.

The latest of those came over course-and-distance when he ran on strongly to win by a short head. Up 3lb, he once again has the assistance of Ryan Moore and looks to have more to offer.

Cracksman finally ended Frankel’s search for a Group 1 winner in Europe when destroying the Champion Stakes field at Ascot on Saturday.

Like many of the stallion’s offspring, Cracksman is at his best when using his raking stride and when racing over longer distances.

In keeping with that, Marine One has looked better as he has stepped up in trip and the additional furlong-and-a-half tonight should help him out even more.
