Hold on to your hats as Lady Aurelia cleared for takeoff again
Buckle up for exciting ride on day with something for everyone
The control tower at Stansted airport may receive quite a few reports about a low-flying aeroplane at Newmarket today, but the tin-pushers can relax. It'll only be Lady Aurelia, the Keeneland Kannonball, the fastest thing on four legs.
The memory of what she did at Royal Ascot is still fresh, because no-one is ever going to forget the way she disassembled the Queen Mary field to the tune of seven lengths on ground that was not expected to suit. Frankie Dettori is accustomed to flying through the air, but he usually does it after a big race, not during one.
But can she do it again in the Connolly's Red Mills Cheveley Park Stakes? Trainer Wesley Ward has been offering encouragement to that end in his regular bulletins on his filly's progress, and there is no doubt the prospect of watching Lady Aurelia scorch down the Rowley Mile will have us all on the edge of our seats.
