Four horses who will love the testing conditions on Saturday
Conditions are on the testing side at most meetings on Saturday after a wet week. Here are four horses who should relish significant cut in the ground . . .
Molls Memory (1.55 Haydock)
All four of Molls Memory's wins have come with cut in the ground and her last two victories have been when the going description has been heavy.
She shaped encouragingly on good ground at York last weekend and has more in her favour seven days on. She is a leading player despite a wide draw.
Urban Beat (2.45 Curragh)
Urban Beat should relish the testing conditions. He is two from two on heavy ground, including when winning over course and distance.
The six-year-old, who will be partnered by Ben Coen, produced solid efforts on his last two starts and the return to six furlongs will suit.
On To Victory (3.25 Goodwood)
On To Victory has form figures of 1211 on soft ground on the Flat and is an interesting contender on his first Flat start since November.
The seven-year-old, who won last season's November Handicap at Doncaster, produced a respectable effort over hurdles four weeks ago when finishing third at Sandown but has something to find at the weights.
Dave Dexter (3.50 York)
Dave Dexter has plenty to find with Copper Knight on recent form but can step up significantly on his return with conditions more in his favour.
The Roger Fell-trained five-year-old is a big price for this 5f handicap but has form figures of 1125103 on soft or heavy ground.
He is rated 2lb below his last winning mark and has each-way claims.
