Fair Eva bids to bounce back from York defeat
3.05 Newmarket
Shadwell Rockfel Stakes (Group 2) | 7f | 2yo fillies | C4/RUK
This prestigious race for juvenile fillies, established in 1981 and upgraded to Group 2 status in 1998, often attracts fillies who go on to tackle the 1,000 Guineas the following spring, and the most recent to win both races was Jim Bolger’s Finsceal Beo in 2006-07.
The exciting Frankel filly Fair Eva, who won her first two starts at Haydock and Ascot in scintillating fashion prior to suffering a shock defeat when only third at odds of 4-11 to Queen Kindly and Roly Poly in York’s Group 2 Lowther Stakes, is certain to start a red-hot favourite once again to put that blip firmly behind her.
