Unblinking 7lb 'well-in' after Cheltenham near-miss

Unblinking, narrowly denied in a highly competitive 23-runner event at Cheltenham recently, is 7lb ‘well-in’ when he bids for compensation in Warwick’s colossusbets.com Handicap Hurdle (1.45).

The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained five-year-old, who had warmed up for Cheltenham by landing a 2m handicap on the Flat at Kempton, made the boldest of bids but found one too good in the form of Palmers Hill.

Jordan Nailor keeps the ride, and Unblinking gets in at the foot of the weights with only 9st 13lb to carry when his partner’s 7lb allowance is taken into consideration.

Twiston-Davies said: “Unblinking ran a blinder at Cheltenham. He was unlucky not to win. The handicapper has put him up 7lb for future races so we thought we’d better get him out now.”

Murphy eyes four-timer with Beau Sancy

Beau Sancy, unbeaten in three starts since joining Olly Murphy, bids for a four-timer when he travels to Ayr for the Loch Katrine Handicap Chase (1.55).

Gavin Sheehan, who has been on board for all those wins, keeps the mount as Murphy steps the six-year-old up in trip in an attempt to defy the handicapper once again.

Watch Beau Sancy's most recent win at Fakenham

Beau Sancy’s wins at Bangor, Wincanton and Fakenham have been achieved off ratings of 88, 98 and 103.

He races off 110 this time, but such has been his rate of progression that few would be surprised if Beau Sancy managed to extend the winning run.
