Blue-blooded Hydros out to continue Stoute and Moore's winning run

Magical Morning sets a good standard on his commanding four-length Yarmouth success this month.

The handicapper has given him a mark of 92 based on that performance and if he runs to that level, even under a 7lb penalty, the son of Muhaarar should prove tough to beat.

However, the favourite that day, Discover Dubai, ruined his chance by taking a keen hold in the early stages, and it could be that Magical Morning beat little of substance.

Two of the newcomers from powerful stables take the eye in receipt of 7lb and 12lb respectively, namely the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Hydros, and William Haggas’s Midrarr.

Hydros, a son of Frankel, is a half-brother to Sangarius (successful on his racecourse debut at Newmarket at two) and Emergent (winner on her debut at Navan as a juvenile), while the Dubawi filly Midrarr is a half-sister to mile scorer Sharamm (second on his debut at three).

The market is often the best guide to races of this nature and it will be fascinating to see the strength of Hydros and Midrarr beforehand.

Ryan Moore, who partners Hydros, has won on three of his four rides for Stoute this week.

Daniel Deronda, sent off favourite for his debut at Haydock this month, failed to justify that status but nonetheless shaped well in finishing fifth of 11 to Newbolt.

It’s likely he’ll come on for that outing, but probable that there may be one or two potentially very useful types in opposition.
