Lingfield's Listed Quebec Stakes is the race of the day. Who wins it?
Owen Goulding, tipster John Gosden has a strong record in this race, winning it three times in the last ten years, and Harrovian could be the one to follow. He was three lengths behind Algiers in the Churchill Stakes over course and distance last month, but he was returning from a break and that rival was given an enterprising ride. Now race-fit, he can give that rival much more of a fright.
Simon Mapletoft, broadcaster Algiers created a strong impression on his domestic all-weather debut in the Listed Churchill Stakes over the same course and distance last month, and a repeat of that performance must make him tough to beat. Victory on Saturday will make him a leading contender for the Group 3 Winter Derby and the Easter Classic on Good Friday.
Ryan McCue, Paddy Power Makinmedoit looks a little bit of value against the higher rated ones in here. She gets the age allowance which doesn’t leave her with a whole lot to find with the likes of Algiers. She was a course-and-distance winner last time, showing a really good turn of foot along the rail, and the smaller field here shouldn’t pose any issue.
