Andrew Balding's lead at the top of the trainers' championship is set to come under severe threat in the coming weeks as Thady Gosden talked through plans to unleash a star-studded attack on Qipco British Champions Day at Ascot.

Gosden junior entered into a joint-training partnership with father John – champion trainer in each of the last three years and five times in total – this year and a late push for another title is on the cards, with Champions Day on October 16 set to prove pivotal as they look to claw back a £400,000 gap.

The Gosdens' Clarehaven Stables house the favourite or second favourite in three of the four Group 1 races, while Stradivarius is a potential runner in the Group 2 Long Distance Cup.
