Power failure puts paid to Nicola Currie celebrations – but not for long

A massive power failure at Chelmsford on Tuesday may have denied Nicola Currie a landmark 95th winner, but the celebrations for riding out her claim were not on hold for long.

Currie had been first past the post on Florencio at Chelmsford but there was insufficient light for the judge to call the result and the race was declared void. However, the rider was swiftly back in the winner's enclosure when Hold Still struck at Kempton the following evening.
