Godolphin star Sobetsu to face seven in Fillies' Mile
Sobetsu, who was an impressive maiden winner on the Rowley Mile for Charlie Appleby last month, is set to face seven rivals as she bids to land the Group 1 Dubai Fillies' Mile (3.10) over the same course and distance on Friday.
Trainer Charlie Appleby, who won the Prix Marcel Boussac last weekend with Wuheida, said: "I'm very pleased with Sobetsu, she is proven on the track, which is a bonus, and I think that she has a very solid chance.
"I appreciate she has got to get past Spatial, and we very much respect her, but when they met before it was Sobetsu's debut whereas Spatial had already run, finishing second to Wuheida. Sobetsu really came forward for that first run and was very impressive last time."
Aidan O'Brien has won the last two renewals and this year saddles Hydrangea and Rhododendron, who finished second and third respectively in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh.
