The controversial sale of Listen Dear by the Supreme Horse Racing Club is being disputed by a number of the mare’s former owners, who claim she was sold without their knowledge last month by the under-fire syndicate.

Individuals claiming to represent 61 per cent of the nine-year-old have lodged complaints with police in Britain and Ireland over the sale, and have written to auctioneers Goffs UK to protest against the release of funds to Supreme.

Listen Dear was sold for £38,000 on October 24, the same day the Racing Post broke news of Supreme’s racing account being suspended by Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) after claims of overselling horses.
