Phoenix Thoroughbreds hits more trouble as runners are blocked in Dubai

Phoenix Thoroughbreds has been dealt another significant blow after Dubai became the third major racing nation to block the embattled organisation from having runners, multiple sources have told the Racing Post.

While the Dubai racing authorities have not officially commented, it is understood that Phoenix entries are being rejected and Satish Seemar, who trains three horses for the Phoenix Ladies Syndicate, said: “We have the horses in the stable but we're not able to run them.”

The move follows the decisions last year of France Galop and the BHA to suspend Phoenix, and the associated Phoenix Ladies Syndicate, due to concerns about the financing of the group.
