Peslier relishing return to Ascot with The Revenant primed for QEII defence

Olivier Peslier has enjoyed three previous victories in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot through his storied career and believes The Revenant holds strong claims of adding a further chapter of success.

This season trainer Francis Graffard has turned increasingly to Peslier, who was reunited with The Revenant for the first time in two and a half years when coming from well back to chase home Real World in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein on Arc weekend, a race he had taken twice before.

The six-year-old son of Dubawi has yet to find the winner's enclosure in three starts since triumphing in the QEII under Pierre-Charles Boudot 12 months ago, and is a best-priced 7-1 to join some illustrious company in the shape of Brigadier Gerard and Rose Bowl, the only other dual winners in the 66-year history of the race.
