Paddy Power limit Best Odds Guaranteed offer in response to 'increasing costs'

Paddy Power have withdrawn their Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) concession for certain meetings in Britain and Ireland, citing the need to mitigate rising media rights costs.

The bookmaker denied it was targeting racecourses which fall under the Arena Racing Company (Arc) banner, although the two meetings which have been affected so far are both part of that group. Paddy Power's parent company Flutter Entertainment also called for transparency in how racing is funded.

Meanwhile, the Horseracing Bettors Forum (HBF) said the move would have a significant impact for punters and described the communication of the change as confusing.
