'Who am I going to tell?' - sexual harassment epidemic crosses into racing

There was plenty to chew on last week for those who have been wanting to hear more from BHA chief executive Julie Harrington about what British racing's governing body has been doing since she took over the helm from Nick Rust.

Those who have been calling for a grand plan to reinvigorate the sport might still be disappointed, but both Harrington's foreword to the BHA's annual report and her speech to the Horseracing Industry Conference at Windsor put more meat on the bone. Reform of the levy was a key theme in the latter to help to build the economic foundations for a sustainable future.

Meanwhile, those who might wonder why the sport should engage in dialogue with the betting industry got their answer in the annual report, in which Harrington revealed the government "has made clear that racing should engage with betting directly before it will consider further levy reform".
