France has Antoine Griezmann - Britain has tough new rules and no clarity at all

Tough new rules governing gambling advertising and who can be employed to promote operators came into force in Britain over the weekend, although they are unlikely to apply to any of horseracing's personalities.

Top footballers and reality TV stars are now banned from promoting gambling to ensure the adverts do not appeal strongly to children, young people and the vulnerable.

However, the Committee of Advertising Practice believes horseracing is more adult-oriented and therefore low risk, which is fortunate in some respects but not especially encouraging in terms of its broad appeal.
