Sunday's top-class Grade 1 card at Fairyhouse had the stage to itself following the loss of Carlisle and Leicester.

That unusual scenario made me wonder how the action looked to British viewers who might normally pay scant heed to the Irish product on Racing TV.

It's hard to cultivate the sense of detachment needed to assess how outsiders may see us. But with every passing race I became more confident we were making a good impression.
