We're back in business as town prepares to open its doors once again

As fantastic as it was to have racing back at Newmarket this week after the bleakest winter many of us will ever know, there was one vital part of the equation missing. There were still no spectators on the Rowley Mile.

That will again be the case for the Qipco Guineas festival on the first weekend in May, but things are at least looking positive enough as we emerge from lockdown that we can officially look forward to the return of the Sir Henry Cecil Open Weekend later in the year.

Trainer Charlie Fellowes is in his fourth year as chairman of the open weekend and confirmed that, following recent government announcements, the town's stables will again open their doors to visitors on September 18 and 19.
