We won't all agree about every horse but Winx really does deserve the accolades

It would be a boring world if we all agreed, although on that particular point Theresa May would probably right now not agree. There are certainly some high-profile horses who divide opinion. We saw one on the Saturday just gone and will see one on the Saturday coming.

We have also just witnessed an animal about whom consensus is easy. Roaring Lion has been magnificent. On Saturday he was having his eighth start of a season that began with a nine-and-a-quarter-length defeat in the Craven Stakes. That he has gone from where he was then to where he is now is remarkable.

Roaring Lion has been the colt who provided the vehicle for Oisin Murphy to complete his rise to superstardom. He may have also arrived at just the right time.
