We will all be richer this season for Henry de Bromhead's adventurous streak
As the trainer responsible for the two highest-rated staying chasers in these isles, Minella Indo and A Plus Tard, Henry de Bromhead is clearly going to have a major say in the make-up of plenty of the key staging posts along the way to the Gold Cup.
And that might just mean some of the British winter's signature occasions will have that bit more crackle about them, starting with Haydock on Saturday, thanks to A Plus Tard's need to go left-handed.
The Betfair Chase has not been a frequent jumping-off point for Ireland's best, with a grand total of five runners since the race's inception in 2005 and only Outlander's third-placed effort for Gigginstown Stud and Gordon Elliott to show from the last seven runnings.
