Full marks to Horse Racing Ireland for the decision to keep Irish racing going, albeit behind closed doors and with restriction protocols in place, despite the coronavirus situation.

Racing in Ireland is a rural-based industry and once the different restrictions continue to be adhered to it is important that the show is kept on the road for the immediate future as long as racing is not a hindrance to the health service and the state.

Our day-to-day business in the yard hasn't been seriously affected this week and our staff are fully aware of the extra discipline that is required of them. It is relatively easy to take the necessary precautions.
