Two-year cocaine bans needed before racing's image is broken beyond repair
When did it dawn on you? For me, it was queueing up to get into a nightclub last Christmas, eventually squeezing into the sweat box where people were packed in like sardines, yet nobody was at the bar buying a drink. That was my lightbulb moment. I'm sure you have yours.
Cocaine is contaminating society everywhere. That is the latest statement to be released from the department of the bleeding obvious. I may as well have told you Envoi Allen is a nice novice. You don't need me to tell you the damage it is doing; you know already.
Only a fortnight ago I spoke to a trainer who almost dissolved into tears upon telling me about one of his former employees, his voice quivering as he told me of the tens of thousands spent trying to keep him clean.
