Tough on Power but Cooper has chance to prove himself again

Last Sunday, Bryan Cooper concluded our series documenting those perceived for one reason or another to face a critical winter.

In the meantime, he has been appointed as Alan Potts’s first choice rider on the owner’s British-based horses. He has essentially blindsided Robbie Power, who has excelled since being nominated by Potts to ride his entire string following their memorable Gold Cup victory with Sizing John.

Notwithstanding the logistical rationale that can be readily applied to Potts’ new strategy, Power would be entitled to feel hard done by.
